EVO MORALES INAUGURATES WELL TO INCREASE NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION

LA PAZ, May 01 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA)--Bolivian President Evo Morales inaugurated today the SBL-6 well, which will increase natural gas production from the Sabalo field by 28 million cubic feet a day.

Morales called to continue ensuring the export of this important natural resource and stressed that the incomes from the well, run by the Brazilian company Petrobras in the southern department of Tarija, will reach 90 million dollars.

'We will produce gas for Bolivians and we will also share it with neighboring countries', said Morales.

Meanwhile, Oscar Barriga, president of the Bolivian state-owned oil company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), said that during the first year the well will produce 20 million dollars in royalties, patents and taxes.

'The drilling of the well started on April 22nd, 2016 and the production tests were completed on April 30th, 2017, with an investment of 83.8 million dollars,' he said.

Minister of Hydrocarbons Luis Sanchez said that tomorrow nationalization of Bolivian natural resources will turn into 12 years.--NNN-PRENSA LATINA
